Description
大元皇帝酒樽
diameter:3.6"; height:5.1"; weight:4.5lb
Inscription of “The Great Yuan Emperor” (大元皇帝) on the bottom; “Emperor’s Order” (皇令) on the handle.
Engraving of ancient Chinese characters inside the cup and on the reverse side of the lid.
Other Chinese characters on the bottom and around the outer brim are vaguely discernible.
Beneath the patina of calcification the cup is of green jade.
Could be the wine cup of Emperor Kublai.
